The Best Version of the Best Gundam (At least, under £200)

There are plenty of reviews out there that all call the MG Unicorn line terrible. Loose panels, poor articulation and outdated engineering are what they point to. But in my opinion, this is one of the greatest Gunpla of all time.

To start, I think it looks incredible. I painted the frame entirely, and the Water-slides included are some of Bandai’s best, but even without that, it’s damn near perfect already.

Those reviews aren’t entirely wrong, but over-exaggerate massively. The waist was the only loose area - which can be solved with the tiniest amount of glue. The articulation is fine - not a problem but not perfect - and the engineering? Arguably the most impressive part of this model.

Being based on a kit from 2007, I was surprised by how well it holds together. Unicorn mode is a brick - Katoki’s decision to use zero poly-caps benefits this kit tremendously, especially with the Full-Armour packs.

My advice? Buy it, but know what you’re getting into. The MG Unicorn Full Armour is the best version of the Unicorn (Save for maybe the MGEX), but isn’t the best poser. For your first kit? I wouldn’t recommend it. But any somewhat experienced builder will have an absolute blast.
